Where should you stay in Turku?

The right neighbourhood often depends on the days you plan to spend there. A riverside weekend, a work assignment and a longer stay call for different things.

A bedroom at Kakolan Torni

Start with the journey you will make most.

If you will visit the same workplace every day, check that route first. For a weekend, you might prefer the riverfront or a neighbourhood you want to explore. Distance from the Market Square alone does not tell you how daily life will work.

Use Föli’s journey planner with the home’s address and your actual destination. Look at walking sections, connections and the time of your return journey.

Kakola: a neighbourhood on the hill.

Kakola hill has a distinct setting within the city. Its slopes are also a practical consideration, particularly with a pushchair or if you prefer to avoid climbs. A free funicular connects Linnankatu and Graniittilinnankatu; check the city’s website for current operating information.

Kakolan Torni offers two separate bedrooms, a private sauna and a balcony. It is a natural option when you want space to spend time together and separate rooms for sleeping.

By Port Arthur: architecture on foot.

Port Arthur’s wooden-house blocks largely date from the early twentieth century. The district borders Kakola hill, with St Michael’s Church as a distinctive landmark. Walking through the streets is a pleasant way to explore without a fixed itinerary.

The 30 m² Sofiankatu home suits one or two guests who enjoy warm tones and a compact, carefully finished interior.

An old wooden house, or a base near Logomo?

The Green Atelier in Lonttinen is a 26 m² home in an old wooden building, with its own entrance and a deep green palette. It is particularly suited to one guest. If travelling as a pair, consider its 140 cm bed and compact space.

Paratiisintie offers an alternative in Pohjola, near Logomo. Within its 44 m², a sliding glass wall separates the bedroom and a sofa bed provides additional sleeping space. Read the property notes about privacy and sleeping arrangements.
