Mera grew from a personal experience: it was difficult to find a furnished home in Finland with the depth of care we admired in international boutique hospitality. Even a well-equipped apartment could meet every practical need while the whole still felt unfinished.

We wanted to bring more to a stay. Attention to architecture. Interesting surfaces and materials less commonly found here. Care that continues into the details you notice only after spending time in a space.

The building, natural light and proportions guide the design. An old wooden house may call for an intimate palette of deep greens; a larger home for natural stone, timber and warm, quiet neutrals.

We bring enduring forms together with contemporary comfort. A material earns its place through its texture, colour and the way it ages. Rarity alone is not enough: every choice needs to belong in the home and work in everyday use.

A beautiful home also needs a comfortable bed, a practical kitchen and room for your belongings. Lighting should suit both quiet evenings and things that need doing. Arrival instructions should be easy to follow. In a good home, these things simply make sense.
