Arrive and get your bearings.
Pori’s travel centre brings rail and coach services together at Asema-aukio, beside the SAMK campus. The Kampus 1 homes are nearby on Karjalankatu, making the area a useful starting point for rail arrivals or campus visits.
Save your arrival instructions and check the last part of the journey in advance. If visiting SAMK, confirm the entrance you need: the campus has several.
Make a few things your own.
During the first days, it helps to establish how you will cook, do laundry and structure the working day. Kampus homes have kitchens and a table for meals or work. The building’s shared laundry room is booked separately.
Choose groceries and daily routes around the places you will actually visit. If arriving by car, confirm covered parking in advance; it is not automatically included with every booking.
Leave some room for the city.
Kirjurinluoto is Pori’s central park in the Kokemäenjoki river, opposite Eteläranta. It offers space for outdoor recreation and is also an event setting.
Even during a short assignment, finding one favourite walking route can help you settle in. Visit Pori’s current information is useful for transport options and planning time away from work.
Travel together. Keep your own space.
The two Kampus 1 homes are on different floors of the same building. Each is an independent 26 m² studio for two adults and a small child. The apartments are not connected.
Colleagues can stay near one another while keeping a home of their own. Beds can be prepared together or separately. Availability and bookings are checked individually for the two homes.
