Turku railway station parking and accommodation: a practical guide

Turku railway station parking and accommodation: a practical guide

Author: Mera · Updated 6 October 2026

Turku railway station is located next to Logomo at Logomon Silta 1. If you are arriving by car, the paid parking spaces at Logomo are the closest option, but they are limited. For a longer stay, it may be clearer to leave the car in a downtown parking garage or in the parking space provided by your accommodation.

The most important practical distinction is this: the passenger railway station is at Logomo, but car-train loading still takes place next to the old station building at Ratapihankatu 37. Check your ticket and VR's departure information to confirm which location you need.

Turku railway station is at Logomo

Turku's passenger railway station and waiting area are located next to Logomo. VR lists the address as Logomon Silta 1. According to VR, it takes approximately 10–15 minutes to walk from the old station building to the new station, so do not accidentally enter the old building into your navigation system.

The platforms are accessed via the Logomo bridge. If you have large suitcases or a stroller, or need an accessible route, check VR's up-to-date station information before leaving. The status of lifts and routes may change more quickly than this guide can be updated.

Passenger trains and car trains depart from different locations

The car-train loading area is at Ratapihankatu 37, next to the old station building. It is not the same location as the passenger-train waiting area at Logomo. If you are bringing a car onto a car train, follow the loading time and VR's separate arrival instructions shown on your ticket.

Parking at Logomo

Logomo's parking areas P2, P5 and P7 are close to the station. However, the number of spaces is limited, and Logomo recommends that drivers arrive well in advance. This is especially important on event days, when Logomo visitors also use the same parking facilities.

Parking can be paid for at a machine or with the EasyPark and ParkMan apps. In EasyPark, Logomo's area code is 926. Check the area code and road signs on site before paying.

According to Logomo's parking instructions, the price is 3 euros per hour from 1 July 2026. The minimum charge is 1.50 euros for 30 minutes. Prices and terms may change, so check them again on the day of travel.

Need Practical option Check before leaving
Quick drop-off or pick-up Signposted areas at Logomo and the station Stopping restrictions and accessible spaces
Parking for a few hours Logomo P2, P5 or P7 Availability, area code and current price
All-day parking Logomo or a downtown parking garage Opening hours, daily price and walking route
Day trip of up to 12 hours Föli park-and-ride Bus ticket, marked spaces and activation in the app
Accommodation for several nights The accommodation's own space or a parking garage Whether the car may be left there for the entire stay

If the Logomo spaces are full

Logomo suggests downtown street parking as well as the P-Louhi and Q-Park parking garages as alternatives. They are within walking distance of the station, but heavy luggage, winter conditions and late arrival should be taken into account.

In the city centre, the price and paid period for parking depend on the location. Do not determine the terms based solely on the app; always check the road sign as well. The city's parking spaces and fees page lists the current zones and payment methods.

Park-and-ride is suitable for day trips

The City of Turku has five park-and-ride locations: K-Citymarket Länsikeskus, K-Supermarket Hirvensalo, and the Prisma locations in Itäharju, Piispanristi and Tampereentie. Parking is activated in the Föli app when you use a mobile single ticket or mobile season ticket.

The parking period is 12 hours. This means the option is best suited to a day trip, not automatically to parking overnight. See the marked spaces and instructions on the City of Turku's park-and-ride page.

Accommodation near the station or a practical home for the entire visit?

Being close to the station makes arrival easier, but the best accommodation location depends on where you will be travelling during your visit. On a one-night trip, a short walk from the station may be decisive. On a business trip or a stay of several weeks, a kitchen, laundry facilities, storage and a quiet sleeping arrangement may be more important.

Compare at least the following:

  • the route from the station to the accommodation with luggage
  • check-in after a late train
  • the location, price and permitted duration of parking
  • sleeping arrangements and the need for a separate bedroom
  • kitchen, laundry facilities, workspace and internet
  • the daily route to your workplace, university or the city centre.

Checklist before booking

  1. Check your ticket to see whether you are arriving at the Logomo passenger station or the car-train loading area.
  2. Confirm the current price and permitted duration for the parking area.
  3. Plan an alternative in case the Logomo spaces are full.
  4. Check the actual walking route to the accommodation, not just the straight-line distance shown on a map.
  5. Confirm whether the car may be left at the accommodation for the entire stay.
  6. Take luggage, accessibility and late arrival into account.
  7. Check the train's departure platform and station information again on the day of travel.

When arrival, parking and accommodation are planned as one whole, getting around Turku is easier from the very first evening. Explore Mera's furnished homes in Turku and check the location, practical amenities and parking arrangements for each home separately.
